Prayer Topic #1:
A Prayer for Encouragement to Release Negativity
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 145:18-21; Hebrews 6:17-20
Reflections of the Heart:
Negative thoughts and emotions hold us captive and prevent us from living freely and showing up each day in the power and authority of Christ. Today, we want to be obedient to God’s Word that instructs us to, “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” – 1 Peter 5:7
Scriptural Prayer:
Our Father, thank You for sending a comforter, the Holy Spirit, to teach us everything and remind us of Your instructions and promises. Thank You for giving us a secret place to close the door and privately release and pray to You. Thank You for being with us and never failing nor abandoning us. We will not be discouraged or afraid. Hallelujah!
Righteous Father, we know that You will give us green meadows for rest, lead us beside peaceful streams, renew our strength, and guide us along good paths. Your word gives us the courage to release fear, release hatred, release anger, release self-loathing, and keep releasing all things that do not line up with Your will as we lay all our cares at Your feet. We can face our enemies because You prepared a table for us in their presence and anointed our heads with oil.
Holy Spirit, help us to continue to love one another and be a source for Your children to release in a safe place. Help us to encourage hope in those who are mentally unstable, grieving the loss of a loved one due to death or abandonment, financially struggling, cutting, addicted to drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex, or putting faith in man and not You. Please help the lost to release control to You and put their faith in Jesus.
What do you need to release to God?
Merciful Father, forgive us all for the sins that we have committed by thought, word, and actions. Forgive us for loving the world and things more than we love You and the people that we see every day. Help us to forgive anyone who has done us wrong and release any anger or hatred that we have held against them. We must be kind to each other, tender-hearted, and forgiving of one another just as God through Christ has forgiven us.
Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Blessed be the name of the Lord now and forever. Everywhere from east to west praise the name of the Lord. For the Lord is high above the nations; His glory is higher than the heavens. Who can be compared with the Lord our God, Who is enthroned on high? He stoops to look down on heaven and earth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
