A Prayer for the G.R.O.W. Convocation
Scripture Reading:
2 Timothy 2:1-2, Acts 17:11
Reflections of the Heart:
May Christian Education always be R.E.A.L.- Relevant, Edifying, Accessible, Learning for the entire body. In addition, our desire is for Grow Groups to help WVCF grow in relationships with God and each other. Let’s celebrate Growing Relationship Opportunities at Windsor during tonight’s G.R.O.W. Convocation!
Scriptural Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the covenant we have with You through Jesus Christ. Thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp to guide our feet and a light for our path. Thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit who guides us into all truth. Thank You for the time and space to celebrate how You have moved through our G.R.O.W. Groups. We love You, Lord. You are our strength. You are our rock, our fortress, and our savior. You are our rock, in whom we find protection. Father, Your way is perfect. You have given us your shield of victory. You have made a wide path for our feet to keep us from slipping.
Father, among the ministry gifts, You have given us teachers who equip God’s people to do Your work and build up the church so that we will not be immature like children. We confess that we won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We declare that the Christian Education Department will continue to provide relevant, edifying, accessible learning. We confess that teachers will be faithful, reliable, and trustworthy believers who will teach what they have learned to others. Our G.R.O.W. groups will expand because You promise to do exceedingly abundantly above what we can ask or imagine according to Your power at work within us. In all respects, our Christian Education department will be a kingdom example; instructors will teach the truth and their teachings will not be criticized. We declare that our Church Family will become like Bereans, people who are noble, studious, diligent disciples of the Word of God. As a Church Family we will meditate on Your Word day and night and experience good success.
Faithful Father, we ask you to give our facilitators and Church Family wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Help them to seek You for wisdom in all that they do. Father, raise up teachers to help propel the R.E.A.L. Life Bible Studies and G.R.O.W. Groups forward. Help every teacher to pray, prepare, practice and perform their assignments. Holy Spirit, empower Pastor Craig Barnett with wisdom, ideas, spiritual discipline, and fortitude. Father we ask you to raise up those in our congregation who have wisdom and experience that will empower their fellow believers. Holy Spirit, we ask you to help teachers and facilitators of WVCF to always be T.E.A.M. focused (teaching, equipping, activating and ministering to the Church Family).
Ask the Holy Spirit how you can become more involved in Christian Education:
Faithful Father, forgive us for not always seeking Your Kingdom above all else and sometimes failing to live righteously. Forgive us for times when we have failed to study and teach Your Word. Forgive us for not always being the best examples for those who may be spiritually immature. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that You have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us of all those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Exalted Lord, Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. Your dominion endures throughout all generations. Lord, You reign, and You are clothed with majesty; You have girded Yourself with strength. The world is established, so that it cannot be moved. Your throne is established from of old and You are from everlasting past. In Jesus’ name, amen.
