Prayer Topic #9:
A Prayer of Preparation for the Fall Feasts
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 19:1-11, Leviticus 23:23-44
Reflections of the Heart:
Teshuva begins at sundown, for the next 40 days, take an introspective look of your life over the past year. What needs to change in your life? What will you do differently? What will you continue to do that will add value? As you look back over your life, remember the wonderful things God has done for you. Our time under God is NOW!
Scriptural Prayer:
Incredible Father, we thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us from the power of the evil one. Thank You, for Your appointed times and seasons. Thank You for setting aside special times to celebrate Your goodness and faithfulness in our lives. We are thankful for Your presence in our lives. We love You, Father. The earth is Yours and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to You. You laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths.
Majestic Father, as a Church Family, we make preparations to celebrate the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement and the Feast of Tabernacles and we expect to experience Your love, power, and presence. On the day of the Feast of Trumpets, when the trumpets sound, as a Church Family, we will respond to the call to honor Your faithfulness. During the Day of Atonement, we will afflict our souls with prayer and fasting. We will re-evaluate our lives, repent for our sins, and draw closer to You. During the Feast of Tabernacles, we will remember that Christ has become our High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands. Jesus Christ, our big brother, has secured our redemption forever.
I am committed to preparing myself for the Fall Feasts by:
Loving Father, please extend Your mercy toward us as we prepare for this consecrated season. Holy Spirit, please help us to prepare our hearts and minds in the way that is pleasing to our Father. Help us to reflect, repent and remember. Please help us to slow down during the next 40 days and reassess our lives with You. Show us what needs to be changed or improved in our lives. Continue to touch our hearts about Your will for our lives. Cause Your peace to settle into our hearts.
Merciful Lord, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness including: idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, homosexuality, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, unbelief, and rebellion. Forgive us for not spending enough time with You. Forgive those who do not choose to observe Your appointed Feasts. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them to you, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
O King of nations, who would not fear You? That title belongs to You alone! Among all the wise people of the earth and in all the kingdoms of the world, there is no one like You. You are the only true and living God and the everlasting King! The whole earth trembles at Your anger and the nations hide before Your wrath. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
