A Prayer for the Earthquake Survivors in Morocco

Reflections of the Heart:
Morocco is a nation in need of much prayer. “An earthquake has sown destruction and devastation in Morocco, where death and injury counts continue to rise as rescue crews dig out people both alive and dead in villages that were reduced to rubble. Law enforcement and aid workers — both Moroccan and international — have arrived in the region south of the city of Marrakech that was hardest hit by the magnitude-6.8 tremor on Friday night and several aftershocks. Residents await food, water and electricity, and giant boulders now block steep mountain roads.” – AP Please keep this nation and its citizens in your prayers as the death toll has risen to over 2,000 people.
Scriptural Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the nation of Morocco and its people. Thank You for comforting them in this time of great loss and suffering. Thank You for sending people to help them to rebuild and recover from the devastation caused by the earthquake. Lord, there is none like You. What mighty praise belongs to You in Zion. You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds. You are the hope of everyone on earth and those who sail on distant seas. You formed the mountains by Your power and armed Yourself with mighty strength. You quieted the raging oceans with their pounding waves and silenced the shouting of the nations. Those who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your wonders. From where the sun rises to where it sets, You inspire shouts of joy.
Eternal King, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in Morocco. Your Word says death and life are in the power of the tongue; so we boldly continue to speak life and call for new beginnings for this nation. Lord, You said that when the righteous cry out, You will hear and answer. Today, we cry out for the nation of Morocco. As the people of God, we know that Your arm is not too weak to save the people from this devastating disaster. We expect Your divine intervention because we are praying. We decree that Morocco King Mohammed VI will receive the necessary aid being offered and make the appropriate decisions to help the citizens and villages recover. We command justice to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream within every governmental agency; every non-profit support agency will be fiscally responsible for helping the citizens and communities in the affected areas to recover and rebuild. We rebuke every demonic power that is assigned to this nation, including the antichrist spirit. We command the necessary funds for rebuilding to come forth! We declare that the people in the impacted areas will encounter the love and hope of Jesus and place their hope and You. We decree supernatural miracles and salvation for these communities.
Holy Spirit, entire communities have been destroyed and thousands of Moroccan residents are homeless, without shelter, food and water. Please reunite family members who have become separated in the midst of the chaos. Provide loving, Godly homes for those children who are now orphaned and comfort them in the years to come. Heal hearts that are now broken by the loss of their loved ones. Holy Spirit, help them to recover from this unspeakable tragedy. Guide the efforts of the rescue teams as they continue to search for survivors and reveal those who are trapped. Touch the hearts of the global community to continue to assist Morocco and open the doors for creative access into this country for missionaries, aid, and humanitarian workers. Lord, touch the hearts of world leaders to continue to provide the necessary support Morocco will need to rebuild. Please help medical teams from around the globe to organize and assist doctors and nurses who are struggling to provide medical care. Please send supernatural intervention to abate the outbreak of diseases. Using the authority given to believers by Jesus Christ, we speak to any possible storms not to form and further impact Morocco.
Merciful Father, please forgive all Moroccan people and us for our many sins. Forgive us for disobedience, rebellion, unbelief, forms of idolatry, shedding of innocent blood, and the rejection of Your Son, Jesus Christ. God have mercy upon your creation. Forgive those who prey on people in tragic circumstances. Forgive the people in Morocco who have not been sensitive to Your leadership. Forgive those Christians who live among the people in North Africa for not adequately praying for this nation and for not consistently sharing Your love and Your Word. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed.) Holy Spirit, remind the residents of Morocco of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Faithful Father, help the residents of Morocco not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.
We worship You, O Great Deliverer! All praise belongs to You. You are the Lord God of Israel who alone does such wonderful things. We will praise Your glorious name forever. Let the whole earth be filled with Your glory, amen and amen!
