Prayer Topic #3:
A Prayer of Thanksgiving for Jesus Christ
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 138:1-6, Hebrews 1
Reflections of the Heart:
Many people will go a lifetime searching for “true love.” Jesus is the representation of God’s true love for us. Think of how much your life has changed since you submitted it to Christ and began to praise Him!
Scriptural Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we will praise You at all times, we will constantly speak Your praises. We will boast only in You. We give thanks to You with our whole hearts; we will sing Your praises before the gods. We bow before Your holy temple and praise You for Your unfailing love and faithfulness; for Your promises are backed by all the honor of Your name. As a Church Family, we pray to You with adoration and thanksgiving in our hearts. Jesus, thank You for being such a loving God. We thank You for being our High Priest and making us Your people. Thank You for being mindful of us and becoming our Deliverer and Liberator.
Jesus, thank You for making us right in God’s sight through Your resurrection and ascension. Because of You, we have peace with God. Through our faith in You we have been brought into a plan of undeserved privilege and we can confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. HALLELUJAH! When we were utterly helpless, You came to earth at just the right time and died for us sinners. We realize that most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed His great love for us by sending You to die for us while we were still sinners. Since we have been made right in God’s sight by Your blood, we are saved from God’s condemnation. Because of Your death, our friendship with God was restored. Today, we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because You have made us God’s friends. Thank You for becoming our sacrifice. Thank You for enduring pain, shame, and humiliation for our righteousness. Because of You, we are God’s righteousness. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
Holy Spirit, help us to always remember that Jesus is our big Brother. Help us to love and appreciate Him, along with You and our Father, God. Please lead and guide our daily living so that we present the goodness of Christ to our families, friends, and co-workers. Most of all, Holy Spirit, please heal and grow our natural and spiritual self-esteem so that we can be all that You have created us to be.
List three things that you are grateful to Jesus for:
Holy Spirit, help us to stay focused on Kingdom business instead of worldly desires, and selfish cares and concerns. Help us to regard Jesus’ name as holy. Help us to keep renewing our minds daily until the image of Christ is formed on the inside of us. Help us to show great reverence for the suffering, the shame, and the sacrifice of our Lord. And keep us humbled in knowing that were it not for Jesus Christ, we would have no hope at all.
Loving Father, forgive us for at times disregarding the sacrifice the Lord Jesus made to secure our freedom. Forgive us for taking unfair advantage of that freedom. Forgive those of us for failing to observe communion with You and with our families. Forgive us for making excuses for our disobedience in doing our part to fulfill the Great Commission. Lord, forgive me for (list the sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us of those they need to forgive and help them to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
God, You are mighty and strong. You are God above all gods. You are Jehovah, God! King above all kings! Jesus, You are the Worthy Lamb slain to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and blessing. Blessing, honor, glory and power belong to You, the one sitting on the throne. You are the Lamb forever and ever. In Your name, amen.
