Scriptural Prayer:
Righteous Father, we thank You for sending Your Word to heal our Windsor Village Church families who have been impacted by the coronavirus. Thank You, Jesus, for shedding Your blood so that people may be healed. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for empowering the Word to provide healing when we speak it. Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit, to comfort and empower us. We give thanks because You are near. People everywhere will tell of Your wonderful deeds. Lord, we are like olive trees, thriving in Your house. We will always trust in Your unfailing love. We will praise You forever for what You have done for us. We will trust in Your Name in the presence of Your faithful people. You alone are God.
Eternal Father, we declare that the Name of Jesus is greater than any name in this earth, including the coronavirus. Jesus, You desire that we be in good health, as it goes well with our souls. It is Your will that our lives are peaceful and filled with hope, not dread. We expect Your Word to operate in all our lives. We declare that our immune systems are healthy and strong. Jesus, you personally carried our sins in Your body on the cross so that we could be dead to sin and alive to righteousness, and by Your stripes, we were healed. Therefore, by faith, we stand on Your Word, and we declare healing and total restoration for those who have contracted the coronavirus (or any virus). We rebuke the spirit of fear that is creating fear and panic throughout our country and around the world. We command peace be still!
Holy Spirit, please remind everyone to wash their hands frequently and thoroughly, using alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available, and; to cover their coughs and sneezes with a tissue that is then put in the trash. Help all families to follow the guidelines of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. Help them remember not to touch their eyes, noses or mouths with unwashed hands, and to stay home when they are sick. Encourage people to eat properly, get the proper amount of rest, get fresh air while social distancing and drink plenty of water. Touch the hearts of people to help their neighbors and those who may not have adequate resources. Protect all health care, first responders and essential workers, and keep them safe. Pour out Your wisdom, knowledge and understanding to our leaders, government officials and healthcare professionals responsible for addressing this crisis. Holy Spirit, help us to trust God for protection.
Holy Spirit, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness, including not seeking Your counsel first about this pandemic. Forgive the U.S. media for stirring up fear, confusion and chaos. Forgive those who are trying to benefit from the fears of our citizens. Forgive us for poor eating habits and lack of exercise, which have resulted in compromised or diminished immune systems. Forgive us for not checking on our senior family members and our neighbors. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind every family member of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to the temptation of fear and hoarding but deliver us from the evil one.
Lord of Heaven’s Armies, honor and majesty are before You. Strength and beauty are in Your sanctuary. We recognize that You are glorious and strong. We give You the glory that You deserve! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
