Dear Believer,
Stand in your front or backyard, extend your hand in the direction of the Gulf Coast and speak to Tropical Storm Imelda. In Mark 4:35-39, Jesus Christ spoke to the weather and commanded it to be calm. So, as believers, we are following His example. Pray with the authority that has been given to you in Jesus Christ and pray in faith. Please pray this prayer out loud and with fervency and determination. God has placed His power in our verbal expressions, so lift up your voice. Believe that your prayers will produce results in Jesus’ Name. Continue to pray this prayer until Tropical Storm Imelda has dissipated or passed over.
Thank you, in advance, for standing on the wall for our region.

Prayer Against Tropical Storm Imelda
Glorious Father, thank You for Your love, grace and mercy. Thank You for protecting us from past hurricanes and tropical storms. Thank You for helping those persons who were impacted by the recent flood events in the Greater Houston Area. Lord, Your glory is higher than the heavens. You are great and Your power is absolute! Your understanding is beyond comprehension. Lord, Most High, You are awesome. You are the King of all the earth.
Eternal Father, using the authority given to us in the Name of Jesus, we speak to Tropical Storm Imelda and we command peace, be still! We command the winds to dissipate and the barometric pressure to rise and normalize. By faith, as the people of God, we declare that this storm will not bring excessive flooding, electrical shortages, harm or devastation to our city and the surrounding coastal areas. We confess that the rain that comes from this disturbance will not overwhelm our region.
Holy Spirit, we ask You to touch the heart of every believer in our city to pray against this storm system and calm the fears of every citizen. Father, Your Word helped with Hurricane Irene and Isaac, please cause it to help with this storm.
Merciful Father, please forgive us for our many sins. Please forgive disobedience, rebellion, unbelief, forms of idolatry, immorality, and the rejection of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Father, have mercy on our city and the surrounding coastal areas. Holy Spirit, remind us all to forgive others.
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptations and deliver us from all evil.
Lord, You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power. You created all things, and they exist because You created what You pleased. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
