Prayer Topic #12:
A Declaration of Wholeness for Our Families
Scripture Reading:
Psalm 104:24-35, John 16:1-15
Reflections of the Heart:
This is the ______ day of the Omer. “We praise You, O Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us by Jesus Christ, our eternal Redeemer and Savior, and commanded us to count the Omer. By faith, we wait with joyful hearts to celebrate the sending of Your Holy Spirit.”
Scriptural Prayer:
We thank You, Father, for forgiving our family members, for healing all our diseases, and for crowning us with Your lovingkindness and tender mercies. Thank You for blessing us generously with gifts and talents including compassion and emotional strength. Thank You for being our Savior, Healer, Deliverer and Friend. Our souls bless You with all that is within us. We bless Your Holy Name! We bless You, and remember all of Your benefits. Lord, the majesty of Your Name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens.
Righteous Father, Your Word instructs that faith without works is dead, so we confess that our families will develop and demonstrate our Christian faith daily. We declare that in singlehood, marriage, separation, divorce, widowhood, and in every other stage of our lives, we are more than conquerors through Christ. We confess that as we submit to Your Word, we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. Lord, we decree that our belief systems and behavioral patterns reflect Your righteousness in our personal and professional lives, and the light of Jesus is reflected in our actions. Lord, we confess that Your favor surrounds us like a shield. Above all, our families will have victorious futures because Your plans for us are of hope, filled with good and not evil.
Holy Spirit, as I prayer for my family, I am praying specifically for:
Gracious Father, we ask You to bless our families with wholeness of our minds, bodies and souls. We ask that You supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Holy Spirit, keep us aware that the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil and help us earn, save, spend, give and invest money in obedience to Your perfect plan. Bless our finances so that we will lend and not borrow. Reveal to our families how to consistently eat nutritiously. Encourage us all to include daily exercise and activity that maintains physical well-being. Please give us the wisdom to develop healthy loving relationships in our homes and with extended family. Strengthen our hearts so that we all walk in holiness.
Holy Spirit, forgive our families all acts of sinfulness including gossiping, lying, fornication, adultery, idolatry, profanity, deception, drunkenness, gluttony, drug abuse and all other sins which we have committed. Forgive us for rebellion and selfishness. Lord, please help us to forgive ourselves for past mistakes. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that You have committed). Remind our families of those we need to forgive and help us all to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them to you, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help our families not to yield to temptation but deliver us all from the evil one.
Now to You, the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because You created what You pleased. We exalt You, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
