Prayer Topic #1:

A Declaration of Victory

Scripture Reading:

Ephesians 6:10-18; Psalm 8:2

Reflections of the Heart:

Each time He said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now we are glad to boast about our weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through us. That’s why we take pleasure in our weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that we suffer for Christ. For when we are weak, then we are strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father, thank You for going with us; for fighting against our enemies, and for giving us victory! Thank You God, who allows us to triumph over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. Lord, Thank You for blessing those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.

Righteous Father, when we face enemies in the form of obstacles and challenges that seem greater than we are, we will not be afraid. The Lord is with us! We will not lose heart, panic, or tremble, for God will fight for us against our enemies, and He will give us victory! The temptations we face in this life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptations to be more than we can stand. When we are tempted, He will show us a way out so that we can endure it.  For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. With God’s help we will do mighty things; we will trample down our foes. We will remain strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. We will put on all of God’s armor so we can stand firm against all strategies of evil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of this unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in heavenly places. On this earth we will have many trials and sorrows, but we take heart, because Jesus has overcome the world.

Holy Spirit, give me wisdom when praying for the victory of my loved ones:

Holy Spirit, remind us that we are victorious and know that nothing can ever separate us from Christ’s love. In times of trouble, persecution, hunger, despair, danger, or the threat of death, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loves us. Help us to hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promises. Help us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect fellowship with other believers as we worship and honor You, especially now that the day of Your return is drawing near.

Merciful Father, forgive us all for the sins that we have committed against You by thought, word, and actions. Forgive us for speaking defeat and failure over our lives instead of victory. Forgive us for failing to recognize the power of our words; that the tongue can bring death or life, and the words we speak have consequences. Holy Spirit, remind us of those we need to forgive, and help us to be quick to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.  As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).”  Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by His great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation! In Jesus’ name, amen.
