Our vision at WVUMC is to “Be God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven.”

In Matthew 3:2 ESV, John says, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” John says this as Jesus comes to get baptized. Jesus didn’t come to bring a religion he came to bring the kingdom to Earth.

According to Bible study tools, “The word repent comes from the Greek metanoia, or metanoeó, which Strong’s Concordance translates as “to change one’s mind or purpose,”

God has positioned all believers to experience heaven on earth and it begins with a transformed mind. We have to believe that Jesus can and will!

Jesus did many miracles in every town he went to but there was one city in which Jesus didn’t do many miracles, his hometown. He didn’t do many miracles because of the people’s unbelief. They said he was just the carpenter’s son.

At WVUMC we believe that the kingdom of God is here and now and we will experience it through our faith.

We have to think as if things are happening in heaven. No sickness exists in heaven, so we shouldn’t accept it as normal on earth(even a cold). There is no poverty in heaven, so we shouldn’t accept it on earth. There is no oppression in heaven, so we shouldn’t accept it on earth. As Jesus walked on Earth, He brought heaven on earth. Jesus says In Luke 4:18 NLT, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free,” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭4‬:‭18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

And when he left, Jesus gave us the give of the Holy Spirit so we could experience heaven on earth.
